Innovation Leaders 

Everyone of us has a fire, a passion that burns away at our very being. Here at Wofford we have a passion for using innovation to improve the world. We yearn to help others so that they may in turn share their own unique gifts in a meaningful way.

 

University of Innovation Fellows want to effect change—big change. We realize that the best way to do this is through constant collaboration. Think about it this way: Wofford students are bright and intelligent, and we’re full of innovative ideas, but nobody has all the answers. As it turns out, the people around us are great resources to tap for creative and inventive ideas. This means that the more we work together, the more ideas we can bring to the table.

 

This concept is so important because no idea is perfect. Every solution that we have to solve any given issue can always be improved. However this isn’t a negative, it’s a positive.This means that we always have the opportunity to improve on our earlier ideas, or ideas that are accepted as satisfactory. It's time we stopped simply accepting things as "good enough". As more people contribute to the collaborative effort, the more we can affect the issues we want to address.

 

Focusing on problems to fix is important, but it’s easy to get caught up in each problem itself. University Innovation Fellows believe it’s important to focus on solutions—not just small fixes, but solutions that have the potential to improve a myriad of issues all at once.
